Nine Arguments the Social Media Skeptics Have No Answer For

Not sure how many scores of billions of people are using Social Media these days – last time I read it was around six times the population of the world!

I’ve always been a bit average at math but I do use the Internet and I have a pair of eyes – I can see that, no matter where I go, people are connecting to Social Networks. Love it or hate it, Social Media is the main development on the Internet in recent years and that’s the case as much for B2B Marketing as it is for teenagers (and forty-somethings) uploading photos of their birthday cakes.

Yet, there are still plenty of skeptics rolling out the same old arguments about it not being necessary for their business to get involved and it being the “latest fad”; they probably said the same about the mobile phone and email.

There are some arguments that the skeptics CAN’T win, though. If it’s your role to convince senior execs in a business to start using the dynamic tools of social networking (like LinkedIn and Twitter) try the following out for size – and see what reaction you get. (more…)
